General Henry H. Arnold

The only Air Force 5-Star General

General Henry Harley Arnold was born in Gladwyne, Pa. in 1886. In 1907 Arnold graduated from the U.S. Military Academy as a second lieutenant. He was one of the first Army pilots who took flying lessons from the Wright Brothers. He was awarded the "Military Aviator" Badge in 1911 (visible in the photo; the bar with the eagle suspended below it under all the ribbons).

This is a "work in progress".
